The South African name for Rooibos tea is Red bush. South Africa is the only country where Rooibos grows, on the Cederberg. Due to the special composition of the soil on the Cederberg, this is the only place in the world where Rooibos is grown. The good and active substances contained in Rooibos are produced in the bush. After picking, the twigs are crushed and dried in the South African sun. This gives it the beautiful red/brown color.
Although Rooibos is usually drunk as tea and is called “Rooibos tea”, it does not contain caffeine and theine, unlike black tea, for example. Rooibos also contains almost no tannin. Tannin can cause a bitter taste. Rooibos is rich in antioxidants, which help keep your body healthy and neutralize free radicals. Good night Rooibos is the ideal tea to drink before going to sleep. If you drink tea or herbal tea without sugar or milk, you get fluid in a healthy way without calories.
